Frequently Asked Questions
How often does my fire extinguisher need to be inspected?
As per NFPA-10 and NYS building code portable fire extinguishers need to be inspected on an annual basis and need to be tested every 6 years regardless if they have been discharged or not.
Is it cheaper for me to replace an extinguisher than to have it tested?
In some cases it is true that if the company does not have the facility to service them, it is more expensive to test the extinguisher. We have the facility to test any extinguisher as long as it follows the guidelines laid out in NFPA-10. In the case it makes sense, to replace the extinguisher we offer a full line of options.
